Pattern Description:

The PDF Woven Ribbons quilt block pattern contains clearly labeled paper piecing pattern sections & complete instructions to sew the design in a range of sizes. The pattern pieces as given make a 6" (15.25 cm) block; for other sizes, use the handy percentages chart to enlarge or reduce the pattern to your desired block size.

A coloring page is also provided, for you to experiment with your own color schemes and variations before cutting into your precious fabrics.

This rather simple paper piecing block makes a quilt which looks deceptively complex, with an effect similar to caned chair seats. You'll need 8 different colors for the "ribbons", plus a background fabric which doesn't compete for attention with the other fabrics. Batiks and hand-dyeds are especially recommended for this design.
