In the Supernova quilt block pattern for paper piecing, you'll receive sewing instructions, block line drawings for color planning, and annotated foundation pattern units. As given, the pattern makes a 12 inch (30.5 cm) block, but may be easily resized when printing the foundation papers by using the enclosed percentages table.
The Supernova block is a beautifully off-center variation of the classic Mariner's Compass. Thanks to the paper piecing technique, it's easy to sew and perfect for a sun or star when stitched in bright yellows and oranges on a blue background! But Supernova makes a truly striking graphic statement when made up in unexpected colors, such as in the first and last images.
This block is recommended for those with some paper piecing experience, and basic paper piecing instructions aren't included.
Pattern is only for personal use, and copyright Piece By Number.
