The PDF Octagonia quilt block pattern contains clearly labeled paper piecing pattern sections & complete instructions to sew the design in a range of sizes. The pattern pieces as given make a 12" (30.5 cm) block; for other sizes, use the handy percentages chart to enlarge or reduce the pattern to your desired block size.
NOTE: Due to the number of pattern units needed for this design, finished block sizes smaller than 6" (15.2cm) are not recommended.
A coloring page is also provided, for you to experiment with
your own color schemes and variations before cutting into your precious fabrics.
After spirals, my favorite block patterns are woven and interlinked designs. Octagonia provides infinite possibilities for color placement, to emphasize or play down the woven crosses that make up the octagon and the center and corner eight-pointed stars. How about sewing a single 24" block with a plain 3" border for a quick and fabulous baby quilt?
I happily provide email support for questions with sewing the block pattern. Unfortunately, I cannot provide further support regarding the design, instructions, and yardage for entire quilts using this block -- that's where your creativity kicks in!
Basic paper piecing instructions are not included. For personal use only.
