I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent book, How to Make a Quilt was published in August 2014 by Storey Publishing. I've written two other successful books for them-- The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book. I learned to sew from my great grandmother, two grandmothers, and my Mom when I was barely in grade school and I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy. Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you'd like to make in my Craftsy store!
You can whip up this cute Fat Quarter Quickie apron for your favorite little helper or a budding artist in an hour or two. It's perfect for the kitchen or as an arts and crafts coverup. You'll need only five coordinating fat quarters and there will be leftovers of some of these to put back into your stash. It's great for boys, too, when done in masculine prints!
Consider making this a collaborative project by having the child choose their favorite fat quarters from your stash, or take them shopping with you and let them choose from the store's selection.
