I've been making things as long as I can remember, thanks to my Mom who is a great seamstress! My favorite has been quilting for 25 years now and now that my husband and I are empty nesters I am enjoying the opportunity to expand my expertise and creativity in this art. Pattern writing is a new outlet for me and I am enjoying sharing my creations. I especially love making patterns that are encouraging for beginner quilters - I try to make sure my directions are clear and well illustrated to take the frustration out of quilting and make it a joyful process!
Thanks so much for looking at my patterns!
This pattern is not an easy one, but it is beautiful! I drafted this block from a quilt that was made in the early 60's. I machine pieced mine, but the original was hand pieced and that might be the way to go with this block, it's pretty tricky!
I've included minimal instructions for this block, just a suggested piecing order, as it is a free block. I used EQ7 to create the templates and my test block came out perfect. Have fun trying this - let me know if you do and show a picture of your completed block!
I've written a tutorial on my blog to help you sew this block - make sure you check it out, and if you have any questions feel free to contact me!
