Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic paper piecing knowledge

Pattern Description:

I have been inspired for this elephant pattern by a vintage appliqu quilt that a customer wanted to sew with a paper pieced pattern for her newborn. My son loves Elmer the elephant so I have add rainbow patches. This block is also very cute in one color.
I think it is one of the favorite kid's designs, as elephants are big and cute enough to provide comfort and security during the night! It can be used for a wide range of projects, as quilt or wall hanging, pillow case, and many more!

This PDF quilt block pattern includes clearly labeled paper piecing pattern sections, clear color chart and comprehensive instructions to sew the block in a range of sizes with a size chart to enlarge or reduce the pattern from 10" to 6", 8" or 12 ".

This pattern does not contains basic paper piecing instructions. If you are a beginner, you can find several good tutorial on Internet to learn the technic.
