I started my blog with the intention
of sharing how I use color to create quilts that bring me joy.
It took me 3 years to finally put one of those ideas 'out there' in a way that other quilters can use to create their own joy.
THIS PATTERN DOES NOT CREATE A SPECIFIC QUILT, BUT GIVES YOU BLOCKS & INSPIRATION TO START ONE!
This color prompt booklet is an exercise in picking fabric palettes. Play with your own stash of fabrics and practice choosing fabric combinations for your next quilt. Play outside your colour comfort zone.
This 7 page eBook is a labor of love! I want to share with you a quick, easy way to find color inspiration in your own home.
Lots of photos are included using my fabric stash.
A blank worksheet is included for you to play along.
Great exercise if you are new to selecting your own fabrics for a quilt or if you've made dozens and are looking for some fresh color combinations.

I quilt for the joy it brings (because I am a JOYful girl!) Thanks to Ani diFranco for giving me this beautiful motto to create by. I make most of my patterns using my stash - which is limited and full of colourful prints! I am obsessed with designing ways to use up selvages - especially collections of selvages from fabrics used in a single project. Sadie Paisley (the mini stitched Joyful me in the pic) has a "thang" for placemats; it is her reason d'etre to create placemat patterns for me. For any occasion, with whatever fabric I have on hand. She likes a challenge and a set for four:) Personally my default creation is pillow covers with a few quilts in there for good measure (can I be a quilter if I don't make quilts?!) We love sharing our happy quilty things and hope you enjoy making them. Love Leads. Grace Dances. Life Heals. Sew Joy!View all patterns by designer (10) »
