Pattern Description:

When I started making modern quilts, I got a lot of questions and comments on how I made them so I wrote this quilt pattern a few years ago and offered it for free on my blog.

I love improvising my quilts but many quilters like a pattern, so this is pattern looks like it was an improvisational quilt and could be a good starter quilt for a beginner or beginner-intermediate. It's easy yet you will learn all the basic skills for making a quilt.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Final Quilt is 32 x 40 inches, after washing

Materials:

Quilt Top: 5 coordinating fabrics: 4 pieces that are 1/2 yard, 1 piece that is 3/4 yard
Quilt Back: 1-1/2 yards
Quilt Batting: one piece 35 x 43 inches
Quilt Binding: 20 x 20 piece of quilt fabric OR 3 yards of pre-made binding
All fabrics should be 100% cotton, quilt weight
All fabrics should be 100% cotton, quilting fabric or flannel

You Will Also Need:

100% cotton thread
Sewing scissors
Rotary Cutter
Quilt Ruler, at least 18 inches long
Cutting Mat
