When our neighbour wanted a quilt for her granddaughter's wedding, we leafed thru hundreds of quilt images in books and magazines. She finally realized that what she really wanted was a reproduction of a quilt her own mother had made decades ago. It was a simple churn dash quilt with wide sashing and no borders. Made with only two fabrics, the resulting quilt is a fine example of elegant simplicity. The quilt would also look great made with holiday fabrics, batiks, 40's reproductions or even as a scrappy quilt. Adding a border to frame the pieced centre is also an option.
I am blessed to live with my husband on a small farm in beautiful Central Ontario where our children and grandson can visit often.
As a quilter for over a decade now, I also enjoy other crafts including counted cross stitch, jewellery making, home decor sewing and crocheting. A needle and thread remain my favourite.
