Pattern Description:

This walking, talking cat come into our quilt shop one day, out of the blue, and invited us to make some mischief with him. We regretfully declined, but instead decided to make a fantastic quilt out of his fabric!

The whole design for Magical Cat in the Hat grew organically, starting with the panel. (Note: if you are not using this Celebrate Seuss fabric group, you may use any panel or novelty fabric at least 24" x 44").

We have gotten so much love for this pattern, and we hope it brings some literary love into your lives too!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Lap quilt - 62.5" x 68.5"

Materials:

  • 1 - 24" panel
  • 1 1/4 yards (background)
  • 3 - 3/8 yard (one-square blocks)
  • 1/2 yard (one-square block frames)
  • 1/2 yard (four-square blocks and sashing)
  • 5 - 1/4 yard (four-square blocks)
  • 2 1/4 yards (one-square blocks and outer border)
  • 5/8 yard (four-square block frames)
  • 1 yard (binding)
  • 4 1/3 yards (backing)
