Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Paper piecing knowledge

Pattern Description:

I love paper piecing and I love my car; I have named her Delilah, she inspired this block.
I am currently designing other blocks to go with this pattern such as a peace symbol so that I can make a hippie themed quilt.
My brother is a beetle fanatic as well, so I also had him in mind when designing this block, the beige beetle he had in his late teens started my LOVE of the beetle!

This pattern is for quilters of an intermediate to advanced level due to the number of pieces and sections. Paper piecing knowledge is required to use this pattern as step by step instructions are not included. A diagram is included to show the piecing order. Each section is also clearly labelled with the order and color. Seam allowances have been added. The wheels and hubcaps are appliqued on the block once it is paper pieced.
