Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should already know how to cut, piece and applique. There is also some foundation piecing involved.

Pattern Description:

This quilt would look terrific either on a bed or hanging on the wall. It is quite spectacular! Shown here in muted plaid fabrics, it could look quite different in other colours too. The applique has been fused and stitched around, building up from the centre. The curved flying geese are foundation pieced, all the instructions and pattern shapes are included in the pattern. Quite a large project, but well worth making.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approx. 80" x 98"


  • Assorted light fabrics for central background totaling 2 1/2 yards
  • Assorted medium fabrics for outer central background totaling 1 3/4 yards
  • Assorted dark fabrics for outer border area totaling 2 1/4 yards
  • Assorted fabrics for flying geese and backgrounds and applique
  • Binding 3/4 yard

You Will Also Need:

  • Paper backed fusible webbing
  • Batting approx. 86" x 104"
  • Backing approx. 86" x 104"
  • General sewing supplies
