Basic Skills Necessary:

  • You should already know how to use a sewing machine and some of the fancier stitches. Preferable, you would also have knowledge of fusible applique and cutting out fabrics using rotary cutting tools. If not, you can still learn by referring to quilting books that teach these methods.
  • From the different applique techniques, I like this one the best -- and it is the easiest to do.

Pattern Description:

Here's a special quilt to help you dreamily focus on that perfect moment -- sharing a special cup of tea with a friend, even when you can't actually do it in person.

On my quest to create quilts using my polka dot theme, I was asked to make one with teacups. So here's my version.

I also created a special label for the back that says it all: "Rekindle those special childhood memories of sharing a tiny cup of tea with your friends; real or imaginary. To my sister for all those special times sharing playtime with me."

This 18-page PDF pattern has colored illustrations of each appliqued block, clear instructions, and full-sized templates for the applique process. All the appliques are reversed and ready to trace onto the fusible web. Use my fabric choices as your guide and create your own magical tea thyme quilt.

Have fun creating these delightful fancy teacups for a wall-hanging that will brighten any corner.
