Pattern Description:

Biking is so much fun when shared with a new friend. Sam and Lucy are the best of friends and maybe more. Lucy's dog, Brownie, loves to join them as they explore the countryside. Tandem Bicycle is the sixth quilt block in the Summer Romance quilt. The other blocks tell the story of Sam and Lucy and how they met. Each pattern is designed to fit comfortably on a 12 inch block. The pattern as sewn in the picture uses raw edge applique which frays when washed. This results in a rustic, folk look to the quilt. This style of quilt block is designed to be free easy and not perfect in any way. That makes it charming!

Approximate time to complete: 2-3 hours.

This pattern includes complete easy to follow numbered step by step directions. There are full size printable patterns for the block appliques. The pattern is written with metric units in parenthesis. If you have any questions or concerns about the pattern please contact me.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Approximately 12x12 inches (30x30cm)

Materials:

2 12 1/2 x12 1/2 inch ( 32x32cm) pieces of solid green flannel fabric for the front and back of the block
1 12 1/2 x12 1/2 inch (32x32cm) piece of white flannel or for the inside layer
Assorted small pieces of cotton fabric for the appliques in blue, 2 greens , red, brown, black, white, pink and yellow
White marking pencil
Sewing machine with darning foot or free motion quilting foot
Sharp scissors
Thin point black permanent marker for facial features
