You Can Do This!
Jump in! Be creative, there is something crazy relaxing about shredding a quilt! Maybe it's your first quilt, or the 100th, you'll get hooked! Use up your stash or start one, my customers and friends just have to hug and "pat" this cozy quilt!

This quilt is pieced, quilted and backed in only a few steps!

No batting or backing to buy or add!
No Constant ironing! (You could make this quilt if you didn't own an iron)!
No fussy cutting!
No paper piecing!
No critical "points" to match!
No fussy seam allowances, 1/2 inch throughout! (Leave that "scant" 1/4" behind for this quilt)!
No critical alignment or stitching of the appliques! Close is ok, you're going to clip and shred them!
No fussy applique edge stitching!
Adding a row or 2 is no problem using simple math!
This quilt allows you be creative!!
You can follow my pattern or try new shapes or use "scrappy" colors from your stash!
Shredding is a huge stress buster!
A little "wonky" might even help this "shabby chic'ish" quilt, it was created to have a soft and relaxed finished look.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 42 inches by 49 inches


  • Regular and small sharp fabric scissors
  • Rag Quilt Snips
  • SHARP Seam ripper or 2
  • (My favorite seam ripper; CLOVER Premier Seam ripper 502)
  • Water or air erasable marker
  • Sewing machine with a walking foot if at all possible
  • 24" or longer straightedge quilter's ruler
  • Rotary cutter and cutting mat
  • Flannel stash buster!
  • Yardage listed in pattern

You Will Also Need:

  • Cotton Thread preferred
  • several universal needles and bobbins for your machine
  • Quilter's straight pins
  • Quilter gloves are helpful but not necessary
