  • measure and cut fabric with a rotary cutter
  • sew a 1/4 seam
  • layer and quilt a quilt
  • make and attach binding to a quilt

Pattern Description:

Choose six coordinating fat quarters to create this elegant table runner. Try a monochromatic color scheme or add an accent color. You could even go totally scrappy!

Despite the triangles in the finished piece, there are no triangles to cut. The flying geese and half-square triangle squares are constructed easily using only squares. The piano key border is quick and easy to assemble with strip piecing.

PLUS! Instructions are included to make the backing piece entirely from the scraps of fat quarters left over from making the top!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 14-1/2" x 54 1/2"

Materials:

  • 6 fat quarters of assorted fabrics
  • 3/8 yard neutral color fabric for background
  • 1/8 yard fabric for inner border
  • 1/4 yard fabric for binding
  • batting

You Will Also Need:

  • sewing machine
  • rotary cutter, ruler and cutting mat

I started quilting in 2000, after years of wondering how to do it, and haven't looked back. As my children grow up I have more time to enjoy creating quilts from my own designs. Please visit my blog at www.canuckquilter.com to see what I'm playing with at the moment.
