Basic Skills Necessary:

  • paper piecing

Pattern Description:

Designed for the Riley Blake challenge hosted by the Modern Quilt Guild, you can almost feel the breeze blowing through the pinwheels of this quilt. This is a paper pieced quilt (aka. foundation paper pieced) that goes together pretty easy, with very few points to match. This pattern is ideal for the beginner paper piecer.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 36" x 36" quilt
  • 6" finished block

Materials:

  • Gray Background - 2 yards
  • Blue Print - 3/4 yard
  • Purple Solid - 3/4 yard
  • Orange Print - 1/2 yard
  • Orange Solid - 1/2 yard
  • Binding - 1/2 yard
  • Backing - 1 1/4 yard

You Will Also Need:

  • paper to print pattern
  • add-a-quarter ruler
  • basic sewing supplies (ruler, mat, sewing machine, etc.)
