I fell in love with this traditional quilt block. The block made me think of sails on a sail boat.
I wanted to use my stash of new and vintage solid fabrics to create a sea of waves for my "sail boats" to float in. Geometric men's shirting prints, vintage stripes and polka dots mixed with new geometric prints added whimsy to the sails and gave texture amongst the solids.
This is a super stash-buster project with beautiful results!

I have been crafting since I was a little girl. My family was always into making things by hand and trying new projects.
I have been sewing and quilting since my teens. I love fabric and prints. Little did I ever dream that I would become a textile designer!
I started designing collections for Fabri-Quilt in 2010 and in doing so, I have really gotten back into sewing and quilting.
