When I was a little girl, I said I wanted to grow up to be a mommy and an artist. I'd like to think that I am just that! I am the mother to three wonderful children ages. I studied art and art history, worked as a museum collections curator, and am now a SAHM who enjoys expressing my creative side through quilting, sewing and fabric printing. I find time for this "during quiet time."View all patterns by designer (71) »
This PDF pattern is called "Seed Packets." Vintage seed packets are so pretty that they make non gardeners want to be gardeners! I studied many images of vintage seed packets to arrive at this original design. I made each packet a little bit different in design, just because it is more visually interesting, more fun to piece, and allows for more fabric options!
This pattern could be handled in so many different ways. If the piecing is intimidating, you could fussy cut a vegetable or flower image from fabric instead of piecing them. The seed names can be fussy cut, embroidered or stamped. You could attach buttons down the length of the pea pod for peas. The bottom corner of the Early Peas package can contain a price or a company logo.
Pattern includes a numbered, colored diagram as well as mirror image pattern pieces, ready for foundation piecing. Basic paper piecing directions are not included. This pattern has no Y seams or curves.
