Skill Level:

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Paper piecing

Pattern Description:

Have you ever wanted to make this traditional design, but not wanted to deal with the curves and inset pieces? Then this pattern is for you. Get the look of a traditional Double Wedding Ring without all the hassles!

This paperpieced version is made completely with straight seams. Make 12" blocks, then set them together, block to block, with a 9" border. Leave the fabric off of the edge of the border to have a traditional scalloped border.

It is simple to add more rows of blocks to make a bigger quilt and it's very easy to figure, since the blocks are the standard 12 inches and the border is 9 inches wide.

To print out this pattern, please use legal sized paper (8 1/2" x 14").

Please click on the blog or news article link to see more variations of this incredible design!

BONUS: Paperpiecing templates for 4" and 6" miniature blocks are included! A layout diagram for a 20" x 44" tablerunner is also given.

  • Finished size 54" (137cm) square
