Pattern Description:

Hearts all wrapped up with a sweet ribbon. A wonderful quilt for a baby or another love in your life! The Hearts are easy, but the Ribbons are definitely for the experienced quilter. The border is a wonderful addition to any quilt and suggestions are given in the pattern to make it larger. My Sewfasst(r) technique for making the hearts gives you Bonus Patches for an Instant Quilt, which could be made into a pillow to go along with the quilt.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

36"x48" wall hanging or crib quilt

Materials:

2 yards very light, white, off-white print or good quality muslin for the background fabric. Avoid obvious one way designs.
The Ribbon is designed to be made in two fabrics. There must be definite contrast between the two:
1/2 yard fabric for the Front of the Ribbon
3/8 yard fabric for the Back of the Ribbon
For the Hearts:
1/4 yard or Fat Quarter each of EIGHT different Dark Reds
1/4 yard or Fat Quarter each of SEVEN different Medium Reds.

You Will Also Need:

3"x6" piece of Template Plastic or lightweight cardboard (One template is needed, even when strip piecing.)
3"x6" piece of scrap fabric or flannel
Glue Stick (paste in a lipstick type tube)
Rotary Cutting Set
Scissors for plastic, thread snips or small sharp scissors.
100% Cotton METTLER Silk Finish thread, match background
Quilting thread for hand or machine in your choice of color
Optional: Quick Quarter II and Quilter's Quarter Marker
Crib size batting
1-1/2 yards backing fabric
