Here I go again! Inspired by my selvage collections, I designed a quick and easy selvage block. I made the red and green Fat Quarter wall hanging first - cutting up all my tiny bits of holiday selvages to make a fun keepsake. Then I couldn't resist going BIG and the 12 inch version of the block was born.
The mini runner was created to go with a quilt I made for my daughter with the same fabric line. Trouble was her dresser isn't wide enough to make a traditional 12 inch block runner. So I made a mini! I mixed together fabric scraps I had left over with the selvages to create this one of a kind decor piece.
THERE ARE 3 PATTERNS IN THIS BOOKLET FOR YOU!
Fat Quarter Mini Quilt
12 Inch Block Pillow Cover
All of these projects can be made without selvages - simply replace the selvage pieces with a striped fabric. Or dots! Or let your fabrics take you where they will. But if you've never played with selvages before, try it! You just might enjoy it:)

I quilt for the joy it brings (because I am a JOYful girl!) Thanks to Ani diFranco for giving me this beautiful motto to create by. I make most of my patterns using my stash - which is limited and full of colourful prints! I am obsessed with designing ways to use up selvages - especially collections of selvages from fabrics used in a single project. Sadie Paisley (the mini stitched Joyful me in the pic) has a "thang" for placemats; it is her raison d'etre to create placemat patterns for me. For any occasion, with whatever fabric I have on hand. She likes a challenge and a set for four:) Personally my default creation is pillow covers with a few quilts in there for good measure (can I be a quilter if I don't make quilts?!) We love sharing our happy quilty things and hope you enjoy making them. Love Leads. Grace Dances. Life Heals. Sew Joy!View all patterns by designer (10) »
