It's a beautiful spring morning and Rebecca and her dog, Jake, are out for a bicycle ride. The sun is shining and thoughts of love are in the air.
This mini quilt is a whole cloth quilt, which means that you cut the front, back and batting all the same size as the finished quilt. The appliques are sewn with the fabric edges raw, exposed. It is designed to fray to the stitches, giving a textured, folk look to the quilt.
The applique and the quilting are done at the same time. There is no binding; the edges are finished by sewing all around and then clipping the edges to fray.
Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible.
This pattern includes complete easy to follow numbered step by step directions with photos. There are full size printable patterns for each of the appliques. The pattern is written with metric units in parenthesis
I love designing and making quilts, especially folk and story quilts. All my patterns are easy to follow with step by step directions and photos. Every pattern begins with a quilt created and sewn on my table top machine.
I have a blog where I share the design process behind the patterns, MarylandQuilter.com. Come by and visit!
