Purple Pinwheels

Purple Pinwheels Purple Pinwheels
Purple Pinwheels Purple Pinwheels in teal

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • rotary cutting

Pattern Description:

I like playing with shapes and simple blocks to make something look far more complicated than it really is. This quilt is composed of just two simple blocks using squares and triangles. The pattern is extended into the 'border' to complete the effect and the points where the blocks meet are designed to give a secondary pattern. I made my first one in purples (hence the name) but I made the second in teals (Teal Turbines, perhaps?) and my students have made it in a variety of different colourways.
