Every little girl dreams of her very own castle in an enchanted forest. She would be the princess with a golden crown and magic wand standing behind a parapet. The drawbridge would lower at her command to allow Prince Charming to cross and visit with her. Her kingdom is at peace, the sun is always shining and a light breeze is waving the castle's flags.
You can capture this dream on fabric with Princess Evelyn's Castle Quilt. Quilt- as -you- go techniques make this magical quilt fast and simple. This little quilt is a wholecloth quilt, which means that you cut the front, back and batting all the same size as the finished quilt. The applique pieces are sewn with the fabric edges raw, exposed. It is designed to fray to the stitches, giving a textured, folk look to the quilt. The applique and the quilting are done at the same time. The binding is a shortcut method where the back of the quilt is brought to the front and handsewn.
Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. There are numbered steps and photographs to guide you. The pattern pieces are full size designed to be printed from standard computer paper. There are over 30 applique pieces in this quilt.
