I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent book, How to Make a Quilt was published in August 2014 by Storey Publishing. I've written two other successful books for them-- The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book. I learned to sew from my great grandmother, two grandmothers, and my Mom when I was barely in grade school and I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy. Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you'd like to make in my Craftsy store!
Here's a pretty focal point for your holiday decorating. Poinsettias are easy to applique using fusibles, making this a quick-and-easy project to finish in time for the festive season.
Appliques are fused to squares and setting triangles. After assembling the runner center, the blocks are framed with appliqued strips made of narrow fabric tubes for a truly stunning setting.
The pattern includes full-size templates and applique placement guides for the blocks, and the side and corner setting triangles--everything you need for success.
This pattern coordinates with my "'Tis the Season Wall Hanging" and my "Placemats for a Festive Table" patterns." Both are also available at Craftsy. Applique sizing is different for each of the three projects.
