Petal Power Pillow

from EvaPaige Quilt Designs Hottie Haven shop
(7) Name: 'Quilting : Petal Power Pillow
Petal Power Pillow Petal Power!

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Rotary cut
  • sandwich a quilt
  • Machine applique
  • Machine quilt

Pattern Description:

Do the best ideas always come out of tragedy? Who knows. But this one did. I was cutting some petals for a different Leaves Galore TM project one day, and accidentally folded a leaf in on itself. I thought all was lost, but soon discovered a new method of three dimensional applique!

Petal Power Pillow uses simple petal shapes and full color photos to walk you through my discovery and create your own cool three dimensional petals on this fun little modern pillow. Add a little more interest and learn a couple more embellishment techniques by ruching the center of the flower and including a rope piping border.

With any luck, you'll whip it up while the kids are at school, and they'll all fight over it when they get home. Ask me how I know.

  • 14 inch square pillow

  • 1/2 yard background, batting, and "ugly" fabric
