Pattern Description:

Do you or someone you love adore penguins? Would you like to learn a versatile quilt block while having fun? Do you want a fast project that can be finished in a weekend? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this is the perfect pattern for you.

In this pattern you will learn an easy, one pin method for sewing the drunkard's path block. Each block finishes at 14" making this a great weekend project. Included are the templates you will need to make the fish and penguin blocks.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 60"x60"


  • 2 yards background fabric
  • 3/4 yard background for penguins
  • 3/4 yard background for fish
  • 1/2 yard black
  • 1/4 yard white
  • 1/8 yard orange
  • 3/4 yard blue or other fish color
  • 3 yards of fabric for backing
  • 1/2 yard of fabric for binding

You Will Also Need:

  • thread
  • pins
  • washable fabric pen
  • 28mm rotary cutter
  • 3.5" and 7" Drunkard's Path templates
  • tweezers (optional)
  • rotating cutting mat (optional)
