'Park Bench' Quilt Block
'Park Bench' Quilt Block

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Techniques used: raw-edged applique with free motion quilting

Pattern Description:

Lucy and Sam both stop bike riding to rest at a pretty park in the center of town. Their eyes meet. They smile and start a conversation. A summer romance begins on the park bench. Park Bench is the third quilt block in the Summer Romance quilt. The other blocks tell the story of Sam and Lucy, and riding off together in the sunset. Each pattern is designed to fit comfortably on a 12 inch block. The pattern as sewn in the picture uses raw edge applique which frays when washed. This results in a rustic, folk look to the quilt. This style of quilt block is designed to be free easy and not perfect in any way. That makes it charming!

Approximate time to complete: 2-3 hours.
