This isn't my design; I discovered some pictures on a German site (http://chasenbach.tripod.com/bqn/laubfrosch.html), couldn't find a pattern, so I worked out how to do it with QuiltAssistant (which is a great FREE program if you want to try out designing paper piecing patterns yourself). Here it is! It looks fun, but pretty complicated.
This pattern as-is makes a 12" square, but if you want to make it smaller, change the scale when you print. On my pdf program, I go to File -> Print, Scaling Type: Custom Scale, and change the page zoom (for example, 80% scale will make it 12inches*0.8 = 9.6inches. OR, say you want an 8" square, you'd do 8inches/12inches = 66%).
I've been making costumes and clothes for almost 10 years now, but I've just recently gotten into quilting and jewelry making. I'm not very patient when it comes to crafting, so if I can make something that looks good and doesn't take very long, that's great! I love time-saving tips and tricks.
