Basic Skills Necessary:

  • basic patchwork and quilting by hand or machine

Pattern Description:

I had some fabric with feathers on, some with leaves, I love owls and so 'Owls in a Tree' came about. My daughter (quite young when this was first made) helped with the eyes and gave all the owls a name. Although I made it with 'conventional' colours I think it would also look great made with modern jazzy colours. Funky owls perhaps?

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 36 x 42 inches


  • 1.5m green scraps (2.5 inches square)
  • 0.75m leaf print
  • fat quarter each of 2 browns
  • scraps of white, black and yellow - fabric or felt
  • 0.75 m binding
  • 1.5m backing fabric
  • 1m wadding
