Pattern Description:

This is a fun counting quilt! One Pukeko, Two Pukeko, Three Pukeko, Four, Five Pukeko.........until More! I think you get the hang of it now! Pukeko are a bird that inhabits New Zealand who look delightful and often comical although not always loved as they are quite destructice, buut loveable just the same! The quilt has quite a lot of applique that can be done by hand or machine as well as the words of the rhyme that are hand stitched. A delightful quilt which would look fabulous on a wall or cot/bed.

Materials:

1 1/8 yards fabric for background
1/2 yard fabric for sashing
5/8 yard fabric for border
1/2 yard fabric for binding
1/8 yard fabric for grass
Assorted small pieces of fabric for applique

You Will Also Need:

Paper-backed fusible web for applique
Stranded embroidery cotton for embroidery
48" x 56" batting
48" x 56" backing
General sewing supplies
