Pattern Description:

This balloon baby quilt is sweet, old fashioned and just right. It starts with a modern vintage cream print and adds 2 big balloons. The pattern is uncluttered and modest and designed to never go out of style.

Old Fashioned Fun baby quilt is a wholecloth quilt, which means that you cut the front, back and batting all the same size as the finished quilt. The applique balloons are sewn with the fabric edges raw, exposed. It is designed to fray to the stitches, giving a textured, unaffected look to the quilt. The applique and the quilting are done at the same time. There is no binding; the edges are finished by sewing all around and then clipping the edges to fray.

Every step in this quilt was planned to create the most beautiful quilt possible in the most efficient way possible. This is a great quilt for a beginner. The directions are clear and numbered, very easy to complete in a day.
