Oh My Stars! (QAL Planning Tool) Oh My Stars! Quilt

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • how to achieve a scant 1/4" seam allowance
  • how to cut fabric accurately with a rotary cutter

Pattern Description:

This printable, which fits on an 8.5" x 11" page, is intended as a planning tool as a part of the "Oh My Stars!" quilt-along. It includes blank layouts for both a throw/twin size and a full/queen size. Print it out and colour it in to get an idea of how you will arrange your blocks, or use it to track your progress.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • throw/twin is 60" x 84" (68" x 92" with borders)
  • full/queen is 80" x 84" (88" x 92" with borders)


  • 16 FQs of various prints for the stars, or an overflowing scrap basket (throw/twin)
  • 4 1/2 yards background fabric (throw/twin)
  • thread
  • cotton batting
  • backing fabric
  • binding fabric

You Will Also Need:

  • printer
  • sewing maching
  • pins
  • rotary cutter
  • self-healing cutting mat
  • ruler
