Plan a holiday buffet and set your table with a set of these colorful Christmas trees.
Easy piecing makes it a breeze to stitch up a set of four placemats.
Decorate each tree with flat buttons or other flat trims such as sequins, felt discs, or paillettes so they won't interfere with the plates.
Each set of four mats requires minimal yardage; fat quarters work great for the backings.
Yardage, cutting, and directions are given for a set of four placemats.

I am a published sewing and quilting author with several books and many magazine articles to my credit. My most recent book, How to Make a Quilt was published in August 2014 by Storey Publishing. I've written two other successful books for them-- The Quilting Answer Book and The Sewing Answer Book. I learned to sew from my grandmothers, great grandmother, and my Mom when I was barely in grade school and I've been sewing ever since. I added quilting to my repertoire in the 1980s and worked for a major quilt book publisher as Managing Editor and then Editor-in-Chief for 5 years. Now I have my own business, designing quilts and tote bags and anything else that strikes my fancy.Go to www.joyofsewingandquilting.blogspot.com to see my projects and whatever else I'm up to. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you find something you'd like to make in my Craftsy store!
