Pattern Description:

This baby quilt was designed for a mom that didn’t want anything “babyish” – no ducks, no pastels, no little boy trucks. As a result, this design can work equally well as a baby gift for an unconventional mom or as a lap robe for anyone who isn’t married to perfect symmetry. Though the design is all about lines and squares, the motif is just a bit off-center, just to make it interesting. Unlike most quilts with a solid backing, this quilt back is pieced. However, the pattern also includes instructions to make the quilt back out of a solid piece of fabric. Though this was designed to be a baby quilt, it is quite a bit larger than the standard crib quilt and as a result, it will work equally well as a cover for a toddler bed.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Approximately 45 x 60 inches

  • 7 1/2 yards of up to ten different coordinating prints for quilt top and backing
  • one piece lightweight cotton batting measuring at least 51 x 66
