Pattern Description:

Are these nine kittens dreaming up mischief? Fur won't fly, but there are nine watchful pussycats contemplating you! Make the cats with wild colors or subdued realistic colors, it is a fun quilt either way. Instructions for a Three Cat Wall Panel is included. The face can be constructed with optional fusible interfacing or follow the intructions for curved piecing. Pattern includes border quilting design of goldfish, bird and mouse.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 35"x40" or 19"x32" wall hanging

Materials:

  • The fabric amounts below, are for NINE cats in THREE different fabric combinations:
  • One yard Background, very dark print OR black
  • OR very light print, white on white or muslin
  • 3⁄8 yard each of THREE dark to medium fabrics to contrast with the background fabric, for the body, head, ears and paws.
  • 1⁄4 yard or a Fat Quarter each of THREE light fabrics for the chest.
  • To make each of the NINE cats from different fabrics, NINE Fat Quarters are needed for the dark and NINE Fat Eighths for the light.
  • For the Border and Finishing:
  • 1⁄2 yard dark print fabric for the Border
  • 1⁄4 yard medium dark fabric for the Cornerstones
  • 1⁄8 yard dark print fabric for the Binding
  • 1-3⁄8 yard each Backing and your choice of Batting

You Will Also Need:

  • Off white or gray thread for piecing
  • Machine or hand quilting thread, in your choice of color
  • Optional: 1/2 yard Non Woven Fusible Interfacing
  • Rotary cutter, mat and acrylic ruler
