Pattern Description:

This Bargello pattern uses 14 different shades fabrics, using the strip piece method. Fabric needed : 1/8 yard of 14 (or 14 half fat quarters) different shades of fabric for strips , 1/6 yards for inner border and 1/3 yard for outer border APPROX. Quilt size: 35" x 44" inches. Easy to follow step by step instructions .

Thank you for the gorgeous pattern, this is my first Bargello, and I am anxious to get started. I am a bit confused on one instruction.
Step 2 ( rows 2 & 20 ) Cut 2 2 inch strips
All other Steps list the quantity first and then the width.
I am not sure how the quantity of 2 1/2 is used.

Thank your for providing this beautiful pattern. I'm sorry but I'm finding the instructions a bit confusing. :( Here is what I think you are saying:

1. I will cut two 2" strips of each of 14 colors (i.e. 2" x 42")
2. Then I will sew one of the 2" strips of each color together to form a 14-color fabric piece.
3. I will do the same with the second 2" strips of each color. Now I have two 14-color fabric pieces.
4. For each of these 14-color fabric pieces I sew the ends together to make a tube. (2 pieces = 2 tubes).

Now your instructions say, "You will make 5 tubes". I don't understand what you mean.

I have the same question . I figured I would just make it and see how it does. I also figured the 2 1/2 is the width of the cut.

This pattern is written very well overall. It does have one misprint, but it is by no means a game killer. The pattern makes it very simple to learn the Bargello concept and the overall design is awesome!
