Last Minute Mug Mat - Extravaganza!!!

A very simple PAPER-PIECED project with NO BINDING. This is a little something you can whip up in no time at all yet it adds a special touch that says - I thought of you :)

There's a Mug Rug for EVERYONE (even the guys) - 24 Center Options from which to choose. That's right - TWENTY-FOUR!!

This is a really good design for the Beginner Paper-Piecer to try (complete Paper Piecing Techniques ARE included). Try the Fussy-Cut Center first & then move on to any of the 24 Center Options!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Octagon shape approximately 7" x 7"

Materials:

Top & Bottom: 2 Strips - 2 1/4" x 8"
Side Pieces: 2 Strips - 2 1/4" x 3 1/2"
Border Strips: 8 Strips - 1 1/2" x 5"
Center Options: Fabric Scraps (Center finishes to 3" x 3")
Backing: 8" x 8"
Batting: 8" x 8"

You Will Also Need:

2 - 8 1/2" x 11" Sheets of Foundation Paper or Freezer Paper for Mug Mat & selected Center Option
1 - 8 1/2" x 11" Sheet of Regular Copy Paper (for Templates-optional)
Iron with Dry Setting
Rotary Cutter & Mat
Transparent Ruler for Trimming Foundation Units
Baggies for Template Storage (Optional)
