Basic Skills Necessary:

  • sew an accurate 1/4" seam
  • baste, quilt and bind a finished top

Pattern Description:

Not only does this pattern make the most out of a layer cake, it actually makes 2 quilts from one set of materials! The main quilt in the pattern is the flying geese quilt. With leftover pieces from the main quilt, you will be able to make a smaller baby quilt in your choice of 6 designs!

Please note: if you are interested in making only the Chevron quit, I suggest purchasing my Chevron Chic pattern (found in my pattern store) rather than this one. The directions for the chevron quilt in the Mother Goose pattern require using leftovers from the Flying Geese quilt.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Flying Geese Quilt (50" x 58")
  • Baby Quilt from Leftovers (39' x 45")

  • one layer cake (42 ten inch squares)
  • 3 yards of a neutral solid
  • 1 1/4 yards for binding (makes 2 quilts)
  • 5 yards for backing (makes 2 quilts

About the designer

I love to quilt! I used to crochet a lot, but once I discovered quilting, it took over as an obsession! I also sell additional patterns and finished quilts on Etsy.
