Mixer EPP hot pad or quilt block

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Simple sewing, whip stitching, English Paper Piecing experience helpful but not necessary.

Pattern Description:

I was inspired to draw up this English Paper Piecing pattern of my favorite mixer when I saw a pink mixer on some fabric that I purchased. I googled a stock cartoon photo, sketched it, and made it up as a hot pad for my SIL in pink polka dot, as she is a breast cancer survivor. When I got so much positive feedback and encouragement on my blog about it, I decided to make it into a pattern. If you love EPP or the quiet and portable enjoyment of hand sewing, I hope you'll give it a try. It is the perfect size to be made into a hot pad or a quilt block, or other handmade crafts.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished block is 8.5 by 8.5 in.

  • Small needle, matching thread, no more than 1/8 yd. of each chosen fabric.

You Will Also Need:

  • Sturdy paper or lightweight card stock for printing template.
