Basic Skills Necessary:

  • Basic Sewing Knowledge
  • Basic Machine Applique Knowledge

Pattern Description:

Make this super cute ladybug lap quilt (54" x 63.5") in a few simple steps. Machine applique technique is used to fuse and sew on antennae and wing dividers, adding character to each bug. Easy 10" squares are used as ladybug bodies -- so take out those large scraps or layer cakes and create a variety of ladybugs for that special love bug in your life!

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • 54" x 63 1/2"


  • 1/3 yd of 10 different prints OR 10 - 10" Squares from Layer Cake for Ladybug Bodies
  • 3/4 yd Contrast for Ladybug Heads, Antennae, and Wing Dividers
  • 1 1/3 yd for Background
  • 1/4 yd for Inner Border
  • 1 1/8 yd for Outer Border
  • 3/4 yd - Fusible Web
  • 1/2 yd - Binding
  • 3 1/2 yd - Backing

You Will Also Need:

  • Thread to coordinate with fabric for topstitching machine appliques.
