Pattern Description:

I love to use pre-cuts in my quilt. The variety of fabrics in Layer Cakes are awesome--and make a perfectly matching quilt. The quilt featured was made from a Marmalade Layer Cake by Moda fabrics and 3 yards of red from Kona fabrics.

This lightning bolt quilt is deceiving--it looks incredibly difficult but it isn't. If you're worried about adding the outer ribbon border, don't worry--the pattern has a layout to complete the quilt without the fancy border.

It's a fun quilt to make.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

Finished size is 76 by 86 inches. To enlarge it to a queen size, add an extra 5 inch border on all sides (requires 2 1/2 yards more red fabric).

Materials:

One 42-Piece layer cake, or 21 fat quarters, OR 3 1/3 yards scrap fabric and 3 1/2 yards solid fabric
