Pattern Description:
Talk a little turkey over a cup of coffee with this fun mug rug! This project is small enough to make with scraps and small cuts of fabric, and quick and easy to sew up for gifts. Take a look at my other patterns for the matching Let's Talk Turkey wall hanging with 7 fun appliqued phrases to choose from!
Sizing / Finished Measurements:
- 10 1/2" x 7 1/2"
Materials:
- Less than 1/4 yard background fabric (depending on how you paper piece)
- Colorful scraps of fabric for feathers and applique pieces, and about 3" square scraps of black and brown for larger applique pieces
- Matching threads
- 4"x11" piece of fabric for border
- 14"x11" piece of backing fabric
- 10"x12" piece of batting
- 1 yard double fold bias tape or quilt binding (unless you wrap the backing fabric around to the front like I did)
- Heat and Bond
You Will Also Need:
- Sewing Machine
- Scissors
- Rotary Cutting tools
- Iron and ironing board
- Freezer paper or paper piecing paper if desired
