Pattern Description:

This is a fun, summery pattern featuring easy applique birds, clouds, and kites. This pattern introduces a great new applique technique, and includes fun dimensional elements.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • Finished size: 54" x 66"

Materials:

  • 3 yards pale blue background fabric
  • 1/4 yard inner border (black fabric with small white polka dot)
  • 6-8 batik primary colored fat quarters for kites and bows
  • 1-1/2 yards white fabric for kites strings and clouds
  • 8" square of blue fabric for soaring bird
  • 6" square of each color -red, yellow, blue for border birds
  • 1/2 yard binding
  • 3-1/2 yards backing & batting
  • scraps of batting for bows

You Will Also Need:

  • Superior Thread Charlotte's Web fusible thread
  • Superior Thread Monopoly (Only 1 color needed)
  • 3/8" pressing bar
  • 4 baby black buttons (for birds eyes)
  • 23-24 buttons for the bows
