Pattern Description:

My mom lived in Hawaii in the 60s, back before Hawaii 5-0, back before tourism had completely taken over. She and her brothers used to swim in places that are now nature reserves and off-limits. Version No. 1 of Island Chain is my idea of what her Hawaii looked like. There was bright coral and fish, hula lessons, and thick jungle. Version No. 2 of Island Chain is her memories of the water, that minty-teal color, with sunlight bouncing off the top.
