I was trained as a Classical Archaeologist, and love finding ancient patterns from all over the world as inspiration for my quilts.
"Intersections" is very simple to construct, but can be made as complex as you like through the use of different colors and prints. I have written the directions for a beginner, with thorough descriptions for cutting and piecing, photos to illustrate specific points, layout diagrams, and foundation blocks.
It looks great with anything my testers have used: traditional fabrics, batiks, modern prints and colors, and solids! While I had a blast making my own version, it was even more satisfying to see what others have done with it to make it their own! I really love seeing everyone's creativity come out, and would love to have you share your version with me at Mandalei's Patterns on flickr or drop me a line on my blog at mandalei.com

I have been a Classical archaeologist and a teacher, and am now a SAHM. I confess to being mildly obsessed with Homer's Odyssey.
