A mug rug doesn't have to be used only for mugs - this country mug rug would look good on any breakfast table adorned with marmalade or honey jars. Using quick fuse applique the honey pot and honey bee are created using a simple strip applique method that saves time and thread. I have used shades of red for the flower but if lavender honey is your thing then change the petals to shades of purple.
This quirky mug rug will look good on your desk or breakfast table and would make the ideal 'thank-you for having me' present for your hostess.

I am the Patchsmith. I patch, applique, sew and quilt. I have been creating a life of fabric, fun and friends for many, many years. I believe a pattern should be easy to follow, with clear diagrams and full-size templates. Value is also very important to me - both in terms of fabric wastage and to the buyer.
