Since retiring from my teaching career I've discovered that there is life outside of the classroom! I spend parts of most of my days indulging in my favorite hobbies of quilting and sewing. I started designing patterns as an experiment, and no one was more surprised than I was to find that other people liked my little designs. I try to write my patterns in such a way that beginning quilters can follow them. I include lots of details, photos, and little informative notes, so even if they look complicated, the instructions should be easy to follow.

(Corrections to the templates for the tricycle pattern have been made.)
The tricycle is the fourth block in "Home", a quilt along, block of the month, mystery quilt.
The concept of "home" wouldn't be complete without a representation of children, and children are filled with energy. These first "wheels", loved by girls and boys alike, provide countless hours of physically active fun.
The sunflowers are symbolic of the sun and of the life and nurturing warmth it gives to our earth.
The block doesn't have to be part of a quilt. With a pretty border it could easily be turned into a cheerful little wall hanging.
Fusible web applique makes the block quick and easy to sew.
The pattern includes detailed, illustrated instructions, full size templates for the applique pieces, and two full size layout plans.
