Skill Level:

small skill level requirement Beginner

Basic Skills Necessary:

  • fusible raw edge applique

Pattern Description:

As laid back as Texas, this raw edge applique project will be so fast and fun that you won't be able to stop shouting "Yeehaw!".

Hawaiian quilting is traditional made with a folded single piece of fabric, that is cut and then appliqued as a unit onto a single piece of background fabric. Here we have a Texas motif that will be cut out from your folded applique fabric and stitched down to the background with a decorative stitch, such as a blanket stitch or zig-zag. As with all my patterns, a full size applique template is provided with the pattern.

Sizing / Finished Measurements:

  • finished quilt measures 26" sq.

  • 3/4 yd. background fabric
  • 3/4 yd. applique (foreground) fabric
  • 5/8 yd. fabric for border and binding
  • 3/4 yd. backing fabric

You Will Also Need:

  • thread to coordinate with applique fabric
  • sewing machine
